Good Afternoon Everyone!
I hope everyone has had an awesome week! I know I’ve been keeping busy like
always but I love what I do! I was asked to sing at the Relay For Life in Arnprior on May 29th along with tonight in Almonte. Performing for my community is one of my ways to show I care and give back to my community. Relay For Life is exceptionally important to me because it was something we always did with my aunt Sharon. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 8 years ago and unfortunately passed a year and half ago. She was one of the strongest women I ever had the privilege to know. I wrote a song called ‘So Long’ in memory of Aunt Sharon and I think it can relate to anyone who has lost a loved one. Those of you who battled cancer and defeated it, you are one brave chick and great job for kicking cancer’s butt! Those of you who are fighting at the moment don’t give up, we are there for you- there is so much to live for.
I was also very fortunate to be asked to sing at the Carleton Place Hospital
Fundraiser! It was a blast and I’d like to thank Luci Jacobsen for asking me to perform. They had the Beckwith Recreational Centre set up for a family fun day with bouncy castles and a BBQ. The fire department and ambulance was also set up giving demonstrations, it looked like so much fun!
I am super excited to announce that I was interviewed my Kenny and Jenny
on the Canadian Country Countdown! For me this was an amazing moment to finally hear my song on the radio, now it feels REAL! They were wanting to try my crown on! Thank you County 101.1 for playing my song on the Countdown and thanks Kenny and Jenny for hosting my interview!
I was also interviewed on In The Country with Dave Woods! Thanks Dave for the great interview, it was nice to meet you! You guys can check out the interview at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/dave-woods/2015/05/31/in-the-country-triple-play–may-31-2015
I am also excited to say I was interviewed on Star 96 based in Pembroke, ON, where I competed for many years in the fiddle and step dance competition. I was featured with Adam on his 5 Stars at 5 o’clock show yesterday and this Saturday and Sunday with Brian on the Canadian Country Countdown! Thanks Brian and Adam for the interviews! Thanks Carrie for greeting me and getting us all set up, it was so nice to meet the Star 96 crew! http://www.star96.ca/Adam-Freeman/story.aspx?ID=2180747
Now I am going to ask for your help! When you have the time it would be
greatly appreciated if you could call into Country 101.1 and request my song Black & Blue! http://www.country1011.com/contact-us/
Also you can call your local country radio station and request Black & Blue!
I can’t express how grateful I am to come from such an amazing community and how supportive everyone has been about school, the pageant, my musical career. Now you ask yourself, ‘What are you grateful for?’
‘It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy.’
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
