Good Afternoon Everyone!
Long time no see! Sorry I have been late blogging but I am full of updates for everyone! I am finished my first year at university and very happy with my results. Although exams were a stressful time, I am very proud of how I did my first year at Bishops University. 🙂 Bishops has been quite the experience, I have made some amazing friends and have grown up and got a glimpse of what living alone will be like, but I am very happy to be home with my family in Lanark County! I have recently released my single Black & Blue to Canadian Country radio in April and extremely excited about the song. I was actually in a two-page spread in Faces Magazine Ottawa for the May edition (I was very excited as it was my first time in a magazine)! I also got to make an appearance on Rogers Daytime with Derek and CTV Morning Ottawa with Melissa to perform my song and talk about my experience with the pageant along with my platform, Friedreich’s Ataxia. Those who are not aware of this disease, it is a rare, life shortening, neuromuscular disease that may brothers best friend was diagnosed at the age of 9. If you would like to follow Kaelan’s search for a cure you can like his Facebook page for updates https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kaelan-Carlsons-Quest-for-a-Cure-for-Friedreichs- Ataxia/374657762697090?fref=ts
I was also involved with CMTC (Canada Model & Talent Convention) 2015 in Markham, Ontario, first week of May. CMTC was very helpful and gave us inside in the modelling industry! The competitions I competed in at CMTC were Runway, Commercial TV, singing competition, Photography Go-See and Commercial Print. I met some great people at the convention and can’t wait to see how this helps with modelling!
I have also just got back from music city, Nashville, and had a blast! I have met some great new people and writers and so excited to connect with them next time I am down! I had the opportunity to write with some australians, Matt Scullion and Sue Ray, along with the lovely Miss Jeanie McQuinn, a beautiful girl from texas, Shaylee O’Neil, and a Canadian Juno Award winner, Daryll Burgess! We wrote some killer songs and cannot wait to write some more hits next time I am down! I also had the opportunity to go to the historical Bluebird to see some great writers, Kelly Archer, Travis Meadows, Brent Anderson and Aaron Eshuis. !
I’d like to thank A&R, Nashville for setting up my performance at the National Downunderground on Broadway with hosts Matt and Sue Ray. It was truly an honour to perform with them. I would also like to thank again Jeanie for letting us stay with you. 🙂 Jeff even took us to church! One last thank you to the people who made this trip possible, my parents! On Thursday morning my mom and I started our drive back to Canada to do a phone interview with two radio stations in Saskatchewan, CJVR-fm/XM 105 fm, Cal Gratton. Those of you in the Saskatchewan listen up it will be replayed in June! Also if people hear my song on radio, don’t be afraid to put in a special request and tweet at me! 🙂
I am going to be organizing some appearances around Lanark County and if anyone is interested in booking me for an event email firstname.lastname@example.org or message me on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/MissTeenageLanarkCounty2015
